Blastobase® collects and organizes real-world blastomycosis case information to help identify patterns, improve awareness, and support earlier diagnosis and treatment for pets. Join at one of the recommended membership levels based on the benefits that best fit your needs. If you do not want to join, you can still submit data, but you will not receive benefits of membership.

FOR VETERINARY PRACTICES

Weekly case reporting

Veterinary practices can submit weekly updates on new confirmed blastomycosis cases through a secure online form.

Each case submission may include:

Species, location, symptoms
Diagnosis date
Treatment plan
Outcome details

Practices may also submit a "no new cases" update, helping Blastobase better understand where cases are—and are not—being reported.

Blastobase will send a weekly reminder and in return, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports will be shared with participating practices.

After treatment concludes, Blastobase may send a short follow-up survey to help track recovery, complications, relapse, or loss.

FOR PET OWNERS

Share your story

Pet owners whose pets have tested positive for blastomycosis can share their case on the website and their story through a guided online form, QR code, or email request. Your local veterinary should be aware of blastomycosis and Blastobase.

Submissions may include:

Symptoms and timeline to diagnosis
Treatment experience
Recovery status
Possible exposure locations: parks, lakes, trails, construction sites, and other

Blastobase will follow up with pet owners after treatment has begun and several months or up to several years later to track progress. Better understanding of effectiveness of various treatment plans and helping identify potential hot spots of spores are critical to success. Your case, once validated, will appear on our map, and be used to inform others in the area.

FOR SHELTERS, RESCUES, DAYCARES, AND BOARDING

Protect your community

Animal care organizations can report known positive cases, share exposure concerns, and receive educational resources to help staff recognize warning signs and communicate with pet families.

Identify geographic hot spots
Monitor symptoms, diagnosis timelines, and treatment outcomes
Create educational reports and awareness tools
Support veterinarians, pet owners, and animal care professionals

Data Privacy

Blastobase® is committed to responsible data use. Personal information is never publicly shared without permission. Case data may be aggregated and anonymized before being used in maps, reports, research summaries, or educational materials.

Pet owners and practices may choose whether to share their story publicly, remain anonymous, or participate only in private case tracking.
